Hibs players will be playing on a new pitch tomorrow and will have a relativly new referee in charge of their vital game against NK Maribor Hibs will have a novice referee in charge tomorrow night as they try to come back from a 3-0 loss against NK Maribor. French referee Clement Turpin has been awarded the game by UEFA in his first year on FIFA's list. This will be only his second European game, his first being last month's Europa League second round game between Croatian side HNK Cibalia Vinkovciv and Cliftonville. Hibs boss John Hughesgave his players their first glimpse of the new-look Easter Road as they trained on the pitch ahead of the second leg of their third qualifying round tie. The much criticised pitch, not least by Hibs striker Derek Riordan, has been re-laid and widened by four metres during the close-season as part of the work associated with the new 6,400 capacity East Stand. However, the new stand will be empty tomorrow night. There had been suggestions circulating that half the seats may be available, but Fife Hyland, the club's director of marketing and communications, confirmed it won't be used. While insisting the construction work is on schedule, with all the seats in place, Hyland said Hibs wanted the project completely finished and signed off before opening it to fans.
