Knock On Effect Of Losing In The Cup

04 March 2011 06:59
The SPL are working on the permutations to get games played. The SPL have brought forward Rangers' home game against Killie following their Scottish Cup exit. Rangers will now welcome Killie on 13 March, after their 1-0 defeat by Celtic ruled out a cup quarter-final trip to Inverness on the same day. The game had originally been scheduled for 16 April, the weekend of the Scottish Cup semi-finals. Rangers have four outstanding SPL games to be rearranged, against St Mirren, St Johnstone, Dundee United and Aberdeen, who are all still in the Scottish Cup. But with the Pailsey Saints facing Aberdeen in the last eight, at least one of those four sides will be free to face Rangers on 16 or 17 April, the final weekend of fixtures before the league splits into two.
