Is It Green For Go?

Rangers have yet another saviour on the horizon but will he follow through once he sees the full story?

Will the arrival of Sheffield United chief executive Charles Green on the scene as soon to be announced preferred bidder of Rangers be the light at the end of the tunnel so many Rangers fans have been demanding since 14 February?  Preferred bidders status does not guarantee that Green and his consortium will eventually take over the club. Bill Miller was also named as preferred bidder by administrators Duff and Phelps not so long ago but decided not to take up the option once he had seen the books for a few days. I feel blaming the lack of enthusiastic welcome from the fans was a smoke screen to big problems which need to be resolved by anybody taking on the club.  Preferred bidder status allows the books to be passed on to the appropriate financial team from the bidders. They will then have time to see in black and white the scale of the problems without the smoke and mirrors that surround any information coming from the administrators. This story is not over yet, just another chapter in an as yet unfinished novel. The fans and football authorities want some clarity to enable some sort of path to be drawn up out of the quagmire that is Rangers current position. If, and it is still an if, Green and his team move ahead with a viable plan to deal with the problems facing the Ibrox club, perhaps there is still life after the debacle that was Charles Whyte's involvement in Rangers. I would not count my chickens just yet. The story has had so many false endings to date, I would not be surprised if there is still another twist or two in the tale.
