Stuart Golabek and Roy McBain know what it is like to be promoted to the SPL and be immediatley made favourites to be relegated Inverness Caledonian Thistle have re-signed veterans Stuart Golabek and Roy McBain ahead of their return to the SPL. The pair, with more than 500 appearances between them, signed one-year deals to replace those which expired this summer. Manager Terry Butcher said: "I'm very pleased that these two polished performers have signed up for the next part of the club's journey. Stuart and Roy are excellent professionals whose poise and know-how will be of great value to what is a young squad. Their commitment is a further boost to my Premier Division planning." Both players know what it is like to be promoted as they were part of the side which were promoted to the SPL in 2004. Left-back Golabek first joined Inverness in 1999 and was in the team which stunned Celtic in the Scottish Cup in February 2000. He rejoined the club last August after two years at Ross County. McBain signed for Inverness in 2000 and has chalked up 323 appearances ahead of what will be his testimonial year. Ryan Esson, David Proctor and Ross Tokely are also out of contract and the club are hoping to tie them down to new deals. Butcher is also trying to extend the stay of top scorer Adam Rooney, who still has a year of his existing contract to run.
