How To Win Friends And Influence People
As January is just next month, clubs will be drawing up their wish list of players to let go and those they want to bring to boost their chances for the rest of the season.
Score goals and the ears of a number of clubs will prick up at your name. The latest name in Scottish football to attract attention is that of Inverness Caledonian Thistle's Billy McKay. A number of clubs plying their trade in the English championship have been paying attention to the scores from the north of Scotland recently as the prolific striker has carried on where he left off last season by scoring 13 goals so far this season after recording 27 goals in all competitions last term.McKay currently tops the scorer table in the Scottish Premiership and he added another two goals to his overall tally in the Scottish Cup win over Morton at the weekend. He has now established himself as a key figure for Inverness since arriving from Northampton Town in the summer of 2011. McKay, who started his career at Leicester City, has 18 months to run on his current deal and the club are preparing themselves for bids coming in when the transfer window reopens next month. The likes of Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday are thought to be tracking McKay as they search for a proven striker to bolster their attacking options in the New Year. Inverness would be reluctant to lose McKay, but they would find it hard to turn down a sizeable offer for the Northern Ireland international if any club firm up their interest.
