Economics plays a big part in football with belts having to be tightened ahead of next season. Queen’s Park will be staying at home ahead of next season after turning down the invitation of a pre-season training camp in Germany next summer from their long time friends at Wattenschied. The Hampden side have decided to stay put as the prepare for season 2011-12. A club spokesperson said: "We were extremely tempted to repeat the success of the training camps we had in 2007 and 2008 in Germany, however economic circumstances mean that we are best to remain in Scotland. It is also difficult to get players away from their work for a full week so we will have to settle for St Andrews and Largs again."
