Home Town Lure Too Much For Clark

It is hard to compete when a player gets a call from his home-town team. Aberdeen's signing Chris Clark could have returned to Scotland with Kilmarnock before he agreed to return home. The midfielder agreed a move back to Pittodrie on Wednesday after spending the last three-and-a-half years at Plymouth Argyle. He had discussions with Killie manager Kenny Sheils about a move back to the SPL and reports suggested Clark was ready to agree a deal to head to Rugby Park. However, his home town team stepped in with a late offer and Clark knew could not turn down the chance to play for the club again. Clark said: "I had a good chat with Kenny Shiels. I have a lot of respect for him and I appreciated Killie's offer, but the chance to return to Aberdeen was too good to resist. It totally made sense for me to come back as it's my home town and I still have a home there, so it was the right move after three-and-a-half years in England."
