It was a much changed sized from the one who beat Celtic in midweek in the Henson Scottish Cup Semi-Final who took to the field at Albyn Park, with City utilising their full squad once more and it was one of these changes which brought about the opening goal as defender turned striker, Danica Dalziel opened the scoring for the visitors with fifteen minutes played. Good play from full back Jill Paterson released striker Jane Ross down the right hand side and the Scotland forward, turned and squared the ball to Dalziel who fired into the back of the net with a left foot shot. City’s lead was short lived as Hibs equalised after some good passing play from the home side resulted in Frankie Brown sending over a high cross which crept in at City’s back post. It was perhaps a fortuitous goal, but one that no doubt galvanised Hibs as they fought for every ball. With twenty minutes on the clock City should have put their noses in front once more but for an outstanding save by Hibs number one and Scotland number two, Shannon Lynn. Leanne Ross found Kat Lindner down the left and the German born striker crossed for Dalziel, who volleyed first time for a certain goal, but for an incredible reaction save from Lynn to push the shot over the bar. Dalziel should have doubled her tally but squandered an opportunity when Jane Ross had set her up in the six yard box. Jane Ross was then involved in a scramble in the Hibs penalty box, before Lynn managed to smother the ball. Half time 1-1. City started brightly in the second half and a good passing move saw the Champions open play out to the right to Paterson who sent an inch perfect cross into the box for Jane Ross, but agonisingly for City her glancing header went just wide of the far post. Hibs had a chance of their own ten minutes after the restart when Laura Williamson in the City nets had to look lively to prevent a Laura Kennedy effort after Hibs had a free kick out wide. However, seconds later, Glasgow City scored and it was Dalziel again. Jane Ross tore down the right hand side and crossed to Dalziel who finished well. Not long after, Emma Mitchell completed a good City move with a fierce ball across the 6 yard box, but as it evaded Lynn in goals, it also evaded the City strike force who were inches from connecting for a certain goal. City made some changes with Lisa Evans, Jo Love and Emma Fernon all coming on and Evans made an instant impact getting the third goal for her side. Racing past full back Frankie Brown, Evans drove towards goal and coolly slotted past Lynn at her near post. Laura Kennedy had a chance for Hibs, but shot over, as Hibs attacks were becoming less and less frequent in the second half as City took a strong control of the game and looked more likely to add to their lead than concede again. Full time 1-3. Commenting after the game, City Head Coach, Eddie Wolecki Black said: "This was out last away game of the season and although we lost a goal, it was only our second away goal conceded all season, so I have to be very proud of the players for that. We didn’t play well in the first half, but after we spoke in the dressing room, the girls really picked it up in the second period. With the volume of games we have had, we have needed the squad and once again nobody let me down. The experience of playing the volume of matches we have had this campaign, will stand us in good stead for seasons to come as the girls fully realise how important preparation is."
