Pat Fenlon was pleased that his side ended the league programme with a win over Dundee which maintained their momentum ahead of the Scottish Cup final against Celtic next Sunday. David Wotherspoon's header gave Hibs a 1-0 win at Easter Road to make it three wins out of three. The last time Fenlon's team lost was against their final opponents at the start of April.He said: "We were looking for a performance and we got one of them. I was pleased to pick up three points, no injuries and a decent performance. We probably couldn't ask for any more. We spoke about that when we won the semi-final, to give ourselves momentum and confidence going into the final. The players have responded very well because it could have been easy to limp our way through to the final but we have had some decent performances along the way."Wotherspoon never made it even to the bench for last season's cup final defeat by Hearts but his goal has given him a chance of making up for that this season. Fenlon said: "It was a fantastic finish, a great ball from Lewis and a great header. I'm delighted for him because he has been up and down this season a little bit but he's a good lad and works very hard. I didn't think he could head a ball that well to be honest but it was a fantastic finish."Dens Park manager John Brown agreed that his side did not deserve anything from the game. No matter what they did today, Dundee knew they would end the season as the bottom club in the SPL. Brown gave full marks to goalkeeper Steve Simonsen who managed to keep the home side at bay until 11 minutes from timeBrown said: "Full credit to Hibs, they were by far the better side. Our goalkeeper kept the score down. We have put in a good shift but the quality wasn't there, we never really created anything. Hibs have got everything to play for, all the players are competing for cup final slots."While Dundee ended the season in bottom position, they may yet escape relegation, because Hearts could be deducted 18 points on Monday after their majority shareholders UBIG became insolvent. However, Brown is not counting on anything and said: "As it stands, we are in the SFL and preparing for that. We will let the authorities deal with anything else."
