Kenny Sheils is still in signing mode with Zdenek Kroca the latest autograph collected Zdenek Kroca has signed for Kilmarnock and manager Kenny Sheils hopes he will be joined by another new player today. The Czech defender has signed a two-year deal and joined his new team-mates at training on Thursday after leaving Luton. Kroca is Sheil's fifth signing of the summer and the Killie manager is confident of adding another continental player to his squad sometime today. The big defender has been brought in following the departures of Frazer Wright to St Johnstone and Mohamed Sissoko who has returned to Udinese. Sheils wanted to bring Sissoko back on a permanent deal following his impressive season on loan but the price of £600,000 for the defender is a bit rich for the Rugby Park side. Shiels said: "There has been a big hole left with the loss of Wright and Sissoko and I have been after this player for three months. He scored against us in pre-season last year and looked the part and I put him in my book and said he would be one we go after if he became available. He has stature, he can pass the ball well, which will suit our style, and he comes and wins the ball from an aerial perspective." Kroca, who has spent the bulk of his career at Tescoma Zlin, said: "It was a little bit of a change for me last season when I played at Luton but I adapted. I had played all my career in Czech Republic apart from one year on loan in Germany, when I was injured a lot. I really enjoyed the football at Luton because it's a traditional club. It was the conference but we had 6,000 every home game so the club was very good. But after we lost the play-off final, I wasn't interested in playing at this level again, and I got an offer from Kilmarnock. This is the Premier, the highest level, so that tells you everything." Shiels is continuing to look for new players with one set to be unveiled today. He has already signed midfielder Gary Harkins from Dundee, former Crewe defender Patrick Ada, midfielder Danny Racchi from York and striker Paul Heffernan from Sheffield Wednesday.Speaking yeaterday, the Northern Irishman said: "Hopefully we will have one in the next 24 hours, I have been after him for more than three months. He is a European player I have been to visit and watch. He has been over here and he likes it so hopefully that will go through. We have had something like 25 trialists here, I have probably brought in too many at the same time, but there are other people after these players too. I think we need another couple or three players. We want the squad finalised before we go to Ireland next week. When we start our Scotland friendlies, we will just have our squad and maybe one trialist. I think we need a support striker, we have one at the moment and a young lad. One of the full-back areas possibly. I think the midfield area has good balance, we will see how that goes in the friendlies."
