Hearts Double Up On Keepers

At least some players believe Hearts are worth signing for.

Hearts have secured the services of a second goalkeeper in three days with the news that Mark Ridgers has signed a two-year contract. The Scotland Under-21 international's new deal will see him stick with the club until the end of the 2013-14 season. Ridgers has been with Hearts since April, 2007, signing from Ross County as a 16-year-old. He made his international debut for Billy Stark's Under 21 side in November when he helped Scotland pull off a shock victory over Holland in Nijmegen in their European Championship qualifier. Ridgers, who has yet to make his first team debut for Hearts, had a loan spell at East Fife earlier this season and was named the Irn Bru Phenomenal young player of the month for September. Jamie MacDonald is the other 'keeper who has extended his stay at Tynecastle,  having signed a similar length of deal on Friday.
