Have Whistle Will Travel

10 March 2010 08:42
Join the referees and see the world. Craig Thomson’s appearance as the referee for the Co-operative Insurance Cup final on 21 March will mark the end of a spell of globetrotting for the whistler. Thomson’s travels started last week when he was in charge of the international game between hosts France and Spain and will carry on today when he heads out of Glasgow for Greece. From there he will travel to Qatar for a weekend game. The teams involved in Thomson’s assignment in the Middle Eastern country is unknown at this stage.Thomson said: “I am off to Greece for the Europa League game between Panathinaikos and Standard Liege, coming home very briefly before heading to Qatar at the weekend. I know I am handling a league game but they tend to keep these things under wraps until you get out there. I imagine it will be a league match between two of their leading sides as they tend to bring in foreign officials for these types of games in place of Qatari officials.” Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is Scottish-Fitba.Net
