Hard Work Earns Reward

All work and no R&R makes teams jaded. Paul Martin hopes to see a return on his investment in time off. Albion Rovers manager Paul Martin is using a carrot instead of a stick to encourage his Third Division table topping team to maintain their fine start to the season by giving them the week off. He said: "As soon as we got the East Stirling game out of the way I told the players to take some time away from football. They can go away with their families or just relax but they can have the time off as a thank you for the effort they have put in so far this season."The Cliftonhill boss is hoping that his generosity his rewarded when the Rovers side get back together next week. Martin went on: "We were struggling for numbers on Saturday because of a virus and we had one player on the bench that was being sick half an hour before the game. I am therefore hoping everyone will come back refreshed and with niggling injuries cleared up. Hopefully we can then build on our fine start and keep in the leading group throughout the winter."
