Two goals and £750: not a bad nights work for Michael Higdon

Stuart McCall was full of praise for Motherwell striker Michael Higdon following the 3-1 win away to Dundee United. The Fir Park manager watched  as Higdon scored a brace at Tannadice to take his total for the season to 24 in the SPL - a personal best for the big Englishman. McCall reckons Higdon is enjoying some good fortune, but believes his success this season is down to hard work more than anything else.McCall said: "When big Michael has not played well this season he has scored, and when he has not scored he has played well. Tonight he did both - he led the line superbly and also scored two goals. He also won the Motherwell lottery, £750 today, so everything has been going for him. When we win, it's a fiver but he won £750 in a rollover. That sums him up at the minute. He's a terrific guy to have in the dressing room and I'm delighted he has broken his record. I'm delighted for him and the whole team."
