Darren Randolph considers Saturday's post match entertainment to have been blown out of all proportion Darren Randolph has branded the weekend spat between Motherwell chairman John Boyle and Aberdeen manager Craig Brown as no more than "handbags." The pair clashed with Brown, Randolph's former manager, reacting to something which was said as they embraced after Saturday's game between the two clubs. The police were on hand to separate the pair and confirmed afterwards they were looking into the altercation. Goalkeeper Randolph, who was down the tunnel before the incident happened, said: "I've seen it on TV and it was just handbags. I don't think anything else would have happened if Craig managed to get back at the chairman. I think they exchanged words and that was it. Regarding the whole Old Firm thing being brought up again, it was just another incident that was made out to be bigger than it actually was." The game was won by Motherwell with a 2-1 scoreline and the Steelmen's manager Stuart McCall did not feel what happened after the game took the shine off the win. He said: "For me, it didn't overshadow the game. In fact, I watched the DVD again when I got home. Players are players and staff are staff - we just concentrate on the football. We've had a couple of good days training after the Aberdeen game and we are fully focused on the football and that's the only thing that matters as far as I'm concerned." Motherwell welcome the other half of the New Firm, Dundee United, tonight having sent them crashing out of the Scottish Cup last week. McCall went on: "It was interesting afterwards to hear their manager and players saying they never turned up for the cup game. So I'm certainly expecting them to turn up this time and I'm sure they will be fired up. From our point of view, we have had three consecutive victories at home and they were big victories, beating Celtic, Dundee United and Aberdeen. So we will be looking to make it a fourth but we are under no illusions as to how difficult it's going to be." Another win over United could be crucial for Motherwell as they bid to secure a top-six place before the league split. McCall added: "We face two really tough games against Dundee United at home and Hearts away. Who knows? We might have enough points now or we might need to win both games so it will be our aim to do that. You just don't know with two games left, there are a lot of teams in there. They are huge games for us. We look back at a lot of games, as I'm sure most teams do, and know we should have done better and picked up more points which now leaves us in a precarious position in terms of the top six. It's good to be in there fighting and we have no doubts it will be a difficult game against Dundee United. I watched their game against Rangers and all fairness to Peter Houston and his side, they bounced back magnificently to go to Ibrox and score three goals and win after the disappointment of them being knocked out of the cup. It shows they have great character and ability, which we knew already."
