But they also want hism to get the move he deserves. A bit of a dilemma for Billy Reid. Hamilton manager Billy Reid is torn between keeping James McArthur for another season and letting his prize asset earn the big transfer his skill and efforts deserve. The midfielder was tipped for a summer move after attracting the interest of Wigan and also being linked with Rangers and Leeds. However,McArthur - who has a year left on his deal at Accies - has yet to be snapped up, meaning weeks of uncertainty so far for both the player and the club. Reid said: "It's been ongoing and I actually feel for the lad to be honest. He's been back training and I don't think there is any point speculating. At the moment, James McArthur is a Hamilton player. I thought he was brilliant again last season. For me, he is one of the better midfield players in Scotland and I think he has proved that. He has done it against the top teams. But finance talks. I sometimes think because the lads play for Hamilton Accies, people don't rate them as highly as I do. Maybe I over-rate them but James' performances on the park speak for themselves. It's a double-edged sword. We have put a lot of work into James McArthur and it would be nice if the club was reimbursed for what it has put in. But if he is a Hamilton Accies player next season, I'll be absolutely delighted. If he goes, I've got to replace him. I've already lost James Wesolowski in the middle of the park so to lose two players of that stature would be a big, big loss for me. The longer it goes on, the more difficult it is for me but we will see what happens." Asked whether cash from the sale of McArthur would be reinvested back into the squad, Reid went on: "I have got my eye on some players who I would like to bring in but it's all down to finances. At a club like Hamilton, it will be difficult to replace a player who's going to play at a bigger club. But we've done it before with James McCarthy and there is no reason why we can't do it again."
