Hamilton Still Fighting To Get Home Win

Three points at home would help Accies fight to stay in the top flight SPL bottom side Hamilton Accies have not won a league game at New Douglas Park all season and Dougie Imrie has set his sights on marking his 50th appearance by changing that statistic. He gets his chance tonight when Aberdeen come to call. Accies are still buzzing following last week's win over Hibs. And, as far as Imrie is concerned, another three points to bolster their SPL survival bid would be the ideal way to celebrate his own personal milestone. He said: "I didn't know it was that many appearances because I haven't been here that long but it's always nice to rack up milestones. Hopefully with my 50th game, we can get the win. We've not won at home all season, which is pretty embarrassing, but it's not been for the lack of trying. We will go into the Aberdeen game full of confidence and hopefully we can get that monkey off our back."  Imrie believes the fact that Hamilton were already written off in many quarters may have taken some weight of expectation off their collective shoulders. He said: "There is basically no pressure on us any more. As it stands, everyone thinks we are down anyway so we just have to go out and play the way we know we can play. We've just got to stick together and hopefully get a few more results."  But, even if Accies do find themselves in the Irn-Bru First Division next season, Imrie has no plans to leave. The winger said: "I've still got two years left after this season so I look forward to it and hopefully we can still be in the SPL. If not, it will be the First Division but we've still got five games to go so we will see what happens. I would have no problems staying here, Hamilton pay my wages. If we do go down, hopefully I can help them get back into the SPL."
