Stirling Albion are nothing if not ambitious and have invited Rangers along to help swell their coffers Stirling Albion have lined up a glamour tie against Rangers for former Chairman Peter McKenzie's testimonial game. The game, which could be the first game played by Rangers under new manager Ally McCoist, comes eighteen years after they were the opposition at the opening of Stirling Albion’s then new ground at Forthbank in July 1993. The game is scheduled to be played pre-season with the definitive date to be confirmed.Paul Goodwin, club spokesperson, said: "Peter was, for so many years, Mr Stirling Albion and has been a fantastic ambassador for the club, the city and for football in general.  It is only right and fitting that the fans who have taken up the mantle of running Stirling Albion recognise the many years of hard work and personal investment that he made by honouring him with this testimonial match."Ex Chairman Peter McKenzie said: "I am absolutely delighted that Rangers Football Club has agreed to provide the opposition for the game.  I have always enjoyed an excellent relationship with the Directors and Management of Rangers over the years.  My young grandson Scott is a Rangers fan (as well as Stirling Albion of course) and he was really pleased when Walter Smith took time out to send him a nice letter, book and other goodies last year.  Scott, along with many other youngsters in the Stirling area will look forward to seeing Rangers play at The Doubletree Dunblane Stadium and to welcome Ally McCoist as their new manager. I am hopeful that we can raise funds to improve the facilities for disabled people at The Doubletree Dunblane Stadium as a result of the game.  It will be an exciting occasion for all, and I hope as many of the Stirling public as possible can find time to support the event".
