Gordon Strachan has confirmed Matt Gilks has joined Ross McCormack in pulling out of the Scotland squad for the friendly against Norway in Molde on Tuesday night.

The Blackpool keeper will return to his club for treatment on an unspecified injury while the Leeds striker, who was a late substitute against the United States at Hampden Park on Friday night, is on his way back to Elland Road after suffering a hamstring injury.

The Scotland boss said: "Matt is another one away. Ross is away back. He has a tightness in his hamstring and we are taking no chances whatsoever with tightness."

McCormack tweeted: ''Heading back to Leeds having had to pull out the scotland squad. Typical!!

''Just need another 24 hours for this to settle. I'll be fit for boro (Middlesbrough, Leeds' next fixture) 100%. And can't wait for it.''

Strachan called up Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd and Dundee United midfielder Stuart Armstrong following the withdrawal of Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher, Celtic midfielder Charlie Mulgrew and Blackburn defender Grant Hanley.
