Derek gaston is leaving Albion Rovers but will meet up with them again early in the season

Derek Gaston has agreed to move to Morton from Second Division Albion Rovers. The goalkeeper has been at the Coatbridge club for three years after being spotted playing on a public park in an amateur game. After such a cliched entrance to football, he went on to play over 90 times for the Cliftonhill side as they won promotion to Division Two. Moving to the Cappielow side means that Gaston will give up his job as a life guard and he could make his Morton debut against his former team mates as the two sides face each other at the start of the new season in the Ramsdens Cup. Rovers manager Todd Lumsden said: "Derek has progressed really well at this club and he deserves his chance in the First Division. We wish him well there."
