Game Of The Day In The First Division

19 February 2011 14:20
Fourth meets fifth in the First Division with both Morton and Queen of the South on 24 points. Morton have midfielders Carlo Monti and Michael Tidser back from suspension and able for selection to face Queen of the South. They may find that they do not make the starting line up as Cappielow manager Allan Moore has a full squad to pick from. Moore said: "I have the selection headache that every manager dreams about. We are in good form and have everyone available so the guys that have dropped out may just find that they cannot just drop back in. Hopefully that will lead to even better performances as the players know that if their standards drop they will be out of the team. As well as playing better we have been dogged recently in terms of gaining points and we will need that attribute in abundance against a good Queen of the South side.''     Home  Away        Team P W D L F A W D L F A GD PTS 1 Raith Rovers 21 6 1 3 15 9 5 5 1 13 7 12 39 2 Dunfermline 21 7 4 0 22 7 4 1 5 16 13 18 38 3 Falkirk 20 6 2 3 21 13 4 1 4 15 9 14 33 4 Queen of the South 17 4 1 3 16 14 3 2 4 9 9 2 24 5 Morton 20 5 2 3 12 6 1 4 5 9 14 1 24 6 Partick Thistle 20 5 3 2 13 6 1 3 6 11 20 -2 24 7 Cowdenbeath 19 3 2 4 14 17 2 1 7 8 25 -20 18 8 Dundee 21 9 3 0 19 5 3 3 3 12 11 15 17 9 Ross County 20 1 5 4 7 12 2 3 5 7 12 -10 17 10 Stirling 19 1 2 5 8 20 2 2 7 9 27 -30 13 Queen of the South will again be without Bob Harris and David Lilley. The midweek postponement of the game with Ross County has left the pair to face another frustrating 90 minutes kicking their heels as they see out the final game of their suspensions. To add to manager Kenny Brannigan's troubles he has lost midfielder Paul Burns to a groin problem and despite the player wanting to play Brannigan has said no. On a more positive note midfielder Stephen McKenna has survived an injury scare and is included in the Palmerston squad. The Doonhamers manager said: "Paul is a wee tiger and wanted to give it a go but he could end up doing himself more damage so we told him to leave it. Morton are strong just now but we are going there to win.'' Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is ScottishFitba Net
