Harry Crainey gets two new players and wants to check on another half-dozen

Annan Athletic have made their moves to bring in two new players for the 2012-13 season. The new artificial pitch at Galabank will be graced on a regular basis by midfielder Scott Chaplain from Albion Rovers and winger David Murray from Queen’s Park. Chaplain started his playing career at Rangers before moving on to Ayr United, Albion Rovers, Partick Thistle and Dumbarton before returning to Coatbridge where he scored twice in last season’s successful play-off final against Stranraer.Left winger Murray has joined his former Spiders team-mate Michael Daly in moving to the Black and Gold’s from Hampden after three seasons at the national stadium. Annan manager Harry Cairney has not finished his recruitment drive. He wants to run the rule over six players who featured in a trial game at the weekend by inviting them back to the club for pre-season training.
