Fyvie Wants To Fly The Nest
Fraser Fyvie thinks it is time for a move to further his career
Fraser Fyvie has no intention of signing a new deal to stay at Pittodrie once his current contract ends in December. Fulham are just one club monitoring the situation with interested and could make a move in the summer for the promising Aberdeen youngster. If the Dons exercise their right to hang onto him till the end of the year, they will only receive compensation for his development when he signs for a new club. With manager Craig Brown's February valuation of £5m in mind, the idea of making money in the summer transfer window is the more attractive option. Fulham were close to a deal for Fyvie last year but the Premier League outfit were only prepared to pay £1million and the deal fell through. And Fulham, who also recently signed Aberdeen defender Jack Grimmer for £200,000, will be well aware they can now get their man at a cut-price fee. Norwich have also shown an interest in Fyvie's autograph on a contract and the prospect of at least two clubs entering into a bidding war for the palyer could be Aberdeen's only hope of driving up the price. Aberdeen-born Fyvie said: "I need to go to progress my career. I feel it's the right time for me to try my luck elsewhere and see what happens. I may be taking a big gamble but sometimes you have to take a risk. I feel I want to go and challenge myself."
