Last night Glasgow City beat Forfar Farmington 4-0 at Keirs Park, Hill of Beath to book their place in the Premier League Cup Final.

The cup holders dominated the match but took until the second half to reflect that situation on the scoreboard, when defender Danni Pagliarulo fired home her second successive goal for City to put her team ahead after a great leap from Eilish McSorley at the back post put the Forfar defence under pressure following a corner. Sue Lappin expertly met a Leanne Ross free kick to head in number two on 57 minutes and Ross made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after Suzanne Malone was adjudged to have been fouled in the box. With only a few minutes remaining, Sarah Crilly capitalised on Forfar keeper Ellie Welton being unable to hold a shot in very wet conditions to finish from close range and make the final score 4-0 to City.Commenting on the match, Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black said: "We are very happy to be in the final. It shows a great consistency as it is our fourth final in a row and probably sums up what playing for this club is all about in that we have to be competing for Cups and League titles. We have now put ourselves in a good position again to try and retain our League Cup. I have to say that in the first half, for as much as we had the ball, Forfar contributed to a good match as they made it very difficult for us, fought for every ball and competed well. It took a couple of minor tactical tweaks at half time which helped us in the second half and we got our rewards from that. The surface was very difficult as there was just too much water on the pitch and that made it tough for both teams. We can now look forward to a Cup final against the same opponents as last year in Spartans and they will make it very difficult for us. They will be buoyed by last night’s semi-final win over Hibs and it will take a very good performance form us to win the first trophy of the season."The result means that City will face Spartans on Wednesday 29 May at Recreation Park, Alloa in a repeat of last year’s final.Glasgow City are back in Premier League action this Sunday and will face Buchan at home at Petershill Juniors, Adamswell Street, Springburn, G21 4DD, 2pm kick off.
