Fernandez Thinking Of Call It Quits

28 May 2010 09:40
Much travelled David Fernandez is looking to his future. David Fernandez has been released by Kilmarnock manager Craig Brown and may hang up his boots. The Spanish striker, who has spent 10 years playing in Scotland since joining Steve Archibald Spanish influenced tenure at Airdrie in 2000, is set to return home to ponder his future. Fernandez moved from Airdrie to Livingston and then signed for Celtic in a £1million deal in 2002. However, he struggled at Parkhead and moved on to Dundee United and Killie. He said: "I am going home on June 1 and I will think about my future. It might be that I will quit football. I don't have any big plans at the moment so I will think about what the best thing is for my family. I will listen to anyone who calls me but right now I am packing to go back to Spain. That is the only thing on my mind right now. I have been away from home for 10 years but now I am going to speak to family and friends to see what is the best thing for me. I just want to enjoy my holiday as things have been busy. Then I'll make what will be a big decision."
