Everybodies A Winner
East Stirling are willing to invest in their future and their players
East Stirling are willing to do the right thing for their players even when resources are tight. Nathan Shepherd needs an operation on his knee injury which he picked up just before Christmas against Clyde and his club have agreed to meet the costs. The club hope this investment will allow the former Morton and Stranraer defender to be back playing for the start of next season. An early private operation will allow the recovery period to start earlier rather than having to wait months for an NHS slot to be available. The Shire have history for this sort of thing as they recently paid for a similar operation for defender Rhys Devlin.Shepherd recently agreed an extended contract and the Third Division side and Head Coach John Coughlin saying: "East Stirling are not a rich club but we are a club that like to treat people right. Nathan will get back to playing football much quicker this way and we will have him available to us quicker so it really is a win- win situation."
