New deals in the summer is on the 'to do' list for a lot of players including Ryan Esson

Ryan Esson is hoping to be offered a new contract by Inverness to replace his current one which ends in the summer. Esson has made 140 appearances for Caley since joining on a free transfer from Hereford in 2008 and is one of 12 first-team players who are looking for new deals at the end of the season. Talks have started between Esson's agent and manager Terry Butcher but nothing has been finalised as yet.  Esson said: "I want to stay. I like the direction that the club is going in. This season, we had a big turnover of players, but sometimes you have to do that. It's just the nature of football. We knew it was going to be difficult, but you have to take it on the chin. We are still in the SPL and we've done pretty well in most of the games that we've played. You can't really say that in any of the games we've played that we've had an absolute doing. All you can do is take the positives and move forward. This is my fourth year at Inverness and I'm happy here. The way the club is it's very much like a family and everyone makes you fell welcome. It's a nice environment to ply your trade. I enjoy working with the manager and the players, so hopefully we can get something sorted out."
