Ahead of the league game with Ayr United, Falkirk manager Steven Pressley was in jovial mood as he met the press yesterday. It could have been the post training snooze he had while the journalists waited patiently at the appointed time of noon till Pressley was nudged awake to meet his commitments.
This light hearted start to the chat helped keep things moving ahead of a closed door game against Alloa this afternoon. As you would expect, the discussion was focussed on possible moves in and out of the club, and was interrupted by a player's agent on the phone.
Pressley had not been at the draw for the fifth round of the William Hills Scottish Cup, which saw them drawn ironically against Ayr United again, carried out by Chelsea manager Andres Villas-Boas and ex-Italian and Juventus manager, Marcello Lippi.
However, he did meet them as was was at the national stadium on Monday evening along with a number of other managers and coaches to hear from them, and Everton manager, Davie Moyes on their coaching styles and approach. Every day is a school day if you want to succeed.
I think that is huge success for one of the teams and with ourselves we currently have a Ramsdens Cup final to look forward to so are fighting on all fronts and we desperately want to make an impact. I think the players have put in enormous efforts this season, on the training ground on a daily basis, their attitude to hard work has been exceptional.
When you train like a champion you deserve your rewards and I think for these group of players, for the way they have gone about their business, they deserve rewards".
