New season, new club for defensive and attack minded players East Stirlingshire head coach John Coughlin has brought in two new players for the forthcoming season. Striker Kevin Turner and defender Ryan Frances have agreed terms with the club after showing up well in pre-season training. Turner spent a number of seasons in the Rangers youth set-up, but most recently was playing for top Glasgow amateurs St. Mungo’s in the Caledonian League. He has already turned out in Shire’s colours when he played as a trialist in a Reserve League Cup game against Clyde last season but, despite impressing, the club’s initial interest at the time was taken no further. Frances came up through the St Mirren youth ranks and graduated to the Paisley club’s reserve team before being released. He is already an imposing 6’2″ and will be looking to fill one of the central defensive berths at the club. Coughlin said: "They are both very keen to play at this level. We will certainly give them the chance. They are enthusiastic and have shown more than enough in pre-season to justify us giving them an opportunity to sign."
