Dumbarton Plan B

Clubs have to prepare for players deciding that it is time to move. Dumbarton are planning for the possible departure of club captain Ben Gordon along with the midfield pair of Ryan McStay and Andy Geggan. Chief Executive Gilbert Lawrie is keen for the trio to stay at the club but is making plans for their replacements should they decide to move on. Lawrie said: "It is disappointing that Andy, Ryan and Ben have not agreed to our original offer and of course players are entitled to ask for what they want, but we have budgets to meet. The door is not closed on anyone, not at all, but if things do not work out with the players, we have to plan B." The Sons of the Rock have already signed Bryan Prunty from Alloa, Ryan Borris from Stirling and Adam Monaghan from St Patrick’s Amateurs and there is more to come. Lawrie went on: "We hope to make one or two signings by the beginning of the next week. The building blocks are there and the manager Alan Adamson knows what he needs in terms of gaps and is working very hard to get players to come to us."
