Doris Has His Day

You have to be grateful to players who are willing to play when they should be looking after themselves. Arbroath boss Jim Weir has praised his two goal hero, Steven Doris, for his efforts against Stirling Albion on Monday night. Davis has been playing through the pain barrier to help the club’s fight to get out of the relegation play-off place. Doris scored the first and last goals of the game in the Red Lichties 2-2 draw at Forthbank which leaves the Gayfield men three points adrift of Stenhousemuir. Weir said: "The players are working hard for our cause and none more so than Steven who probably should not even be playing. He needs a tidy up operation on his knee but he has delayed it until the end of the season to help us stay in Division Two."
