owdenbeath FC would like to get their new kit for season 2013/14 on sale but the Fife club, like many Scottish League clubs at the present time, still don't know what division they'll be playing in next season, or at least what that division will be called. The 10 current Scottish First Division clubs are still threatening to rebel if the SPL don't take plans to introduce play-offs to the Premier League seriously and also recognise the need for a trickle down of cash to teams in the three tiers below the top flight in Scotland. While Hamilton Accies supremo Les Gray is leading the charge on behalf of Div 1 clubs, Cowdenbeath FC are still supportive of Accies plans for a change in the Scottish League set-up in time for the start of the new season. However, the more pressing matter of gaining extra pre-season cash through the the introduction of the club's new kit to the club shop is on the minds of The Blue Brazil. A club spokesman said: "We have a new deal with German firm Uhlsport who will make our home and away kit as well as a 3rd kit but as yet we don't know what badge will be going on the arm of the shirt. Will it be a sponsors name along with an SFL logo ? Will it be SPL 2 and a sponsors name ? Right now, we just don't know but we hope to get the new shirt on sale for fans soon." Edinburgh Sportswear firm Football Nation in association with Cowdenbeath FC got the German firm on board to make Cowden's strips after Nike took over Umbro last month and the US company decided to discontinue their association with smaller clubs like Cowdenbeath. Since the takeover both long term Umbro stalwarts Manchester City and the England national team have come under the Nike umbrella with England announcing their new kit on Monday 20th May while Man City will wear their new Nike kit later this week in a post-season US friendly against Chelsea. Cowdenbeath will be the only Scottish League club wearing Uhlsport in the new season but so far German efficiency has been held up by Scottish football's infamous procrastination. We feel sure it wouldn't happen in the Bundesliga.
