Dods Has To Play The Waiting Game

09 March 2011 11:24
It's the only game in town for Darren Dods Veteran defender Darren Dods admits he is struggling to be fit to return to action for Dundee United before the end of the season. The knee injury which is holding him back from action is proving to be more complicated than first diagnosed. Dods can only look back at four games for United this season and has not managed to be involved in a first-team game since early October last year. It was initially thought that Dods was suffering from a cartilage problem, but scans eventually showed a shard of bone floating in his kneecap. He must wait until next month for another visit to the specialist and Dods accepts he is facing a race to play again before the season is over.  Dods said: "It was difficult for them to spot. I'm still four weeks away from a scan to see how it has healed and five weeks away from going back to visit the specialist. I reckon he should give me the all-clear then but I have been counting up and it means even if he does by the time I'm ready to play it's going to be around the last week of the season. At most I'll get only one or two games and that's disappointing." Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is Scottish-Fitba.Net
