Dixon Could Get The Nod Soon

Craig Levein is looking for Scotland players all over the place and he could yet pick one from his old stomping ground of Tannadice

Peter Houston believes Paul Dixon's form will end up with his name being included in a Scotland squad in the near future. The left-back has played a starring role in Dundee United recent unbeaten run and capped a fine display with a stunning goal in Tuesday's 4-0 win over Kilmarnock. Dixon has already won two Scotland U21 caps and was linked with a move to Millwall in the January transfer window. However, the Dundee United manager believes his player is capable of playing at a higher level. He said: "Paul is in excellent form just now.  He's great going forward. His use of the ball is second to none and his crossing and delivery have been brilliant. Paul's at the end of his contract and is maybe looking to move on at the end of the season. When he's playing like that it's the kind of form that could earn him a good move, if he wants to go down to England. If he keeps up that form I'm convinced he'll get the move that he's looking for. Paul's not far away from a Scotland call-up. I know he is in Craig's (Levein) thoughts but he's stuck by the guys who have done well for him recently. Paul can be patient but I'm delighted with his form. He's an excellent player and playing exceptionally well."
