Derby Day In Dundee

09 December 2012 10:30
Bragging rights are up for grabs again as Dundee welcome Dundee United.

Dundee are hosting today's Tayside derby and are looking to continue their mini-revival of fortunes. There was a blip last week in Paisley, when the Buddies won 3-1, but they responded with a 2-0 William Hill Scottish Cup win at Livingston. They are looking to secure a fourth win in six games against United, who won the first derby of the season 3-0 at Tannadice in August. Midfielder Kevin McBride said: "It was good to get the win after the defeat against St Mirren. The boys are in a good mood. We know it will be a tough game - it was a 3-0 defeat the last time against them - but we believe we can get something. It will be a good atmosphere and it will be a full house. It's good to have the derby back in Dundee. We're on a good run at the moment, but form goes out the window when you go into a derby. Dundee United will probably be up near the top of the table at the end of the season, but derby games are different. It's about on the day who wants it the most and hopefully at the full-time whistle it will be us.''
