Injury robbed Partick Thistle of Darren Cole's services in the cup but hope he will be back for league action

Partick Thistle manager Jackie McNamara is hoping that Darren Cole, an on-loan signing from Rangers, can make his debut on Friday night, in the league against Hamilton Accies. It was expected that his would have been heading for his second game for Thistle but injury denied him his first outing on Saturday, against Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup. The defender, who played for the Ibrox side on Champions League duty against Turkish side Bursaspor in December 2010, injured his ankle at training on Friday with the First Division side and that forced Firhill's McNamara to adjust his line up for the game. McNamara said: "Darren was due to be in our starting eleven but we had to change things around after he went over his ankle. All being well he should make the Hamilton game and we will also have our other loan signing from Rangers, Kal Naismith, available to play as he was cup-tied at the weekend."
