Davidson struggling for Scotland

Scotland's preparations for the friendly against the Faroe Islands descended into near farce as late call-up Murray Davidson battled injury to keep his place in the squad.

The Scottish Football Association confirmed this morning the St Johnstone midfielder and Paul Caddis had been added to the squad after manager Craig Levein was hit by nine withdrawals at the weekend.

They later revealed Davidson, who has been struggling with an ankle injury, had withdrawn but the St Johnstone midfielder will now receive treatment at the team hotel in a bid to be involved in Tuesday night's Pittodrie friendly.
