Cut Lennon Some Slack: Sheils

Kenny Sheils sees much to admire in his Celtic counterpart Kilmarnock caretaker manager Kenny Shiels admires the way Neil Lennon wears his heart on his sleeve for his club. It is hard to miss just how the Celtic manager is feeling during a game and his passionate displays on the touchline have landed him in trouble this season. This has seen Lennon having to show more restraint in the stand after being banned from the technical area recently. As Kilmarnock and Celtic prepare to go meet tomorrow night, Shiels says the Hoops manager is simply a man who cares deeply about Celtic and football and finds it hard to hide his feelings.  He said: "I have always had admiration for Neil. Things have happened to him that I think have been unjustified. People have said things about Neil that are not true and they don't know the fella. He is a really nice guy. He's an intelligent man, who knows his football. He's been in the game for a long time and he is a legend at Celtic. I have nothing but admiration and respect for him but hopefully I can disappoint him on Wednesday night. This is football and he is a passionate guy. He loves the game. You can see that he loves football. He takes it to heart if they are not playing well and he lets that passion emanate out and he wears his heart on his sleeve. He is a good guy, Neil."  While Celtic hope to overtake Rangers in the race for the SPL title, Kilmarnock are still in the hunt for European football this season. With both sides still having something to play for, Shiels has predicted a good show for those who make the trip to Rugby Park on Wednesday evening. He said: "I think it's fair to say at this moment in time that Celtic are the best team in Scotland. I like the way Neil Lennon works because he signs players who he feels will fit a system where they can entertain. If you look at (Beram) Kayal and (Emilio) Izaguirre, they are entertaining footballers. They are not the run of the mill, hard-working and all that kind of stuff. They can entertain. They express themselves on the ball. They are a great team to watch and Neil deserves a lot of credit for that because you can see what he has done. Celtic are traditionally a really good footballing team and one thing is for sure, I would like to think our game against Celtic will be a good game of football and the entertainment value will be very high."
