Cup Fever Starts Again

27 May 2010 14:07
Friday sees the cup competition start for the 2010-11 season Scotland Manager Craig Levein will undertake the Draw for the First Round of next season’s Co-operative Insurance Cup on Friday at Livingston’s Braidwood Motor Company Stadium. The West Lothian Club have been chosen to host the Draw and they are also one of seven SFL clubs that are hosting Co-operative Insurance Cup Coaching Masterclasses for schools in their area. The SFL and Co-operative Insurance are repeating last season’s Football Family Funday to mark the First Round, where under-16 year olds are allowed into the games free as long as they are accompanied by at least one paying adult. Youth coaching sessions, Co-operative Insurance Cup Skills posters and mini footballs are all up for grabs to help get the cup competition off to a flying start on Saturday, 31st July. The 30 SFL sides from the 2009-2010 season will be in the draw, which will be seeded according to their finishing positions. The 15 first round winners will be joined by the seven lowest finishing SPL sides from last season – Falkirk, Kilmarnock, St. Mirren, Aberdeen, Hamilton Academical, St. Johnstone and Hearts in the Second Round.
