Some people would prefer to play than take it easy in the stand-by role

Montrose have beaten off advances from a First Division side and secured the services of one-time Queen’s Park, Alloa and Ayr United goalkeeper David Crawford. A free agent after spending some time with Clyde last season,Crawford recently played for the Links Park men as a trialist and Montrose manager Stuart Garden moved quickly to get a deal done on a more permanent basis. Garden said: "A First Division club wanted David as a back-up goalkeeper, however he wants to play more often and he has the chance to establish himself as a first choice here."
