Gregg Wylde walked away from Ibrox but could be heading south shortly

Gregg Wylde walked away from Rangers in the hope that he would be able to help the staff left at Ibrox retain their jobs. He may not be unemployed for long, however, as Bolton appear ready to offer himthree-year deal, with manager Owen Coyle saying: "He excites me." Bolton are not the only team interested in Wyldde's autograph with Aston Villa, Everton, Wigan, West Ham and Charlton all being linked with the Scotland Under-21 winger, who is a free agent. Wylde was released from his contract after Rangers entered administration and his experience at such a young age has led to competition for his signature. But Premier League relegation-threatened Bolton are rumoured to have won the race and Coyle has again been full of praise of the midfielder. Ahead of Saturday evening's FA Cup quarter-final at Tottenham Coyle said: "He is a very talented young player, a wide player who excites me. He has played a lot of games for Rangers both domestically and in Europe."
