Coach Looking For New Club

The churn of backroom staff means that some coaches are looking for a new job before the music stops

It is not just players who are on the look out for new clubs during the close season. Fitness coach David Johnston left Ayr United when the club called time on Brian Reid's tenure as manager a fortnight ago. Former marathon runner Johnston has been involved in football for the past decade and is now looking for a new club. He started off his coaching career with Elgin City in 2002 with David Robertson before moving to Stranraer in 2005 as part of Neil Watt’s backroom team. Watt took Johnston to Ayr in 2007 and he worked with their first team ever since Johnston said: "When Brian left I believed it was right for me to leave as well. Hopefully I can now get back in somewhere else and help a club with their pre-season programme."
