Clancy Move May Benefit Two Clubs
As the end of the transfer window draws close, clubs are having to juggle things to get their squads balanced. Killie manager Kenny Shiels looks willing to allow Tim Clancy to move to Motherwell so he can beat the transfer deadline and add to his own squad. Sheils believes the switch to Fir Park will be also beneficial for the full-back and will provide more opportunities for first-team football. Clancy is seen as a replacement for the injured Steven Saunders. The Rugby Park manager expects Clancy's departure to give him some flexibilityto recruit a central defender before the end of the month and the closure of the transfer window. Shiels said: "I've looked at the squad and I've looked at the balance and shape of it. Tim hasn't been getting enough first-team football and he's a very good player. I want to help Tim and, in turn, help ourselves. We are quite abundant in the full-back area and it gives me an opportunity to bring in a natural centre-half. I feel we have enough cover with the full-backs with Tim's departure and it gives Tim an opportunity to get first-team football." Shiels has a couple of names in mind but does not want to alert anybody to their availability. He said: "We are in the process of trying to bring someone in but we've got quite a while yet. I've been working on it all week and I've got one in training and one hopefully coming in tomorrow. I can't really say any more at the moment because the two I have in mind are good players and I don't want to alert any of our more affluent adversaries."
