Glasgow City need to overcome the one goal deficit to prgress in the Champions League

Glasgow City will be heading the Denmark tomorrow from Edinburgh airport for their second leg match against Fortuna Hjørring in the last 32 UEFA Women’s Champions League on Wednesday night. City will be looking to overcome the 2-1 deficit from last Wednesday's home game at Petershill and captain Rachel Corsie knows they have it all to do this week. She said: "There is little doubt that we got off to a poor start. We let them get two early goals and despite dominating the second half we were only able to pull one goal back, so they definitely are in the driving seat at this point. However, it is only half time. We have 90 minutes still to play and I am confident we can score over there. Fingers crossed we keep it tight at the back and sneak at least a couple to get us into the last 16."

There is a sense of deja-vu among the squad as last season when after drawing 1-1 with Iceland Champions Valur Reykjavik at home at Petershill, City went over to Iceland seven days later and won 3-0. City Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black, believes his side is capable of something similar again. He said: “I always feel we can score goals. We struggled with their physicality in the first match, but that is mainly down to the lack of competition we get domestically. We have not lost a League match in four years now and there is no getting away from the fact that this causes us problems in Europe. Fortuna are ranked 8th in the Champions League overall and are a strong side. But, we can play at lot better than we did last week and I am more than confident the girls will put in a better performance on Wednesday. Although they are strong favourites, we are not out of this by any means and look forward to the challenge ahead." You can watch the Fortuna Hjørring v Glasgow City game LIVE on BBC ALBA on Wednesday. Kick off is 7.15pm UK time. BBC Alba can be viewed UK wide on Sky 168, Virgin Cable 188 and BBCiPlayer. Scottish viewers can also watch on Freeview channel 8.
