Carrot Or Stick. Which Works Better?

16 April 2010 12:56
There are a number of ways to get your team playing the way you want and different managers employ different methods. Which one works best? While Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee has booked extra training for his faltering side, Alloa manager Allan Maitland has opted for giving his players time off after a defeat. Maitland’s table topping Second Division side lost 3-2 to Brechin City at the weekend to dab the brakes on their title hopes, however Maitland reckons that some extra time away from football will benefit the Recreation Park squad. The Wasps boss said, “I saw that Mark has told his players that they will not have another day off but even though we are a part-time operation I feel that a few days break will benefit them. We cancelled training earlier in the week and we will get back together on Thursday when we can have a more intense session as the players will be fresher.” Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba.net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba.net)This is Scottish-Fitba.Net
