Can Duffy Make A Difference To Clyde

A first win in six months with the arrival of Jim Duffy. Can he get get Clyde on a decent run? Albion Rovers head to take on a Clyde side tonight which will have to do without the injured pair of defender Alan Lithgow and forward Willie Sawyers. However, new manager Jim Duffy could have Gavin Brown  in his thoughts after he signed a permanent deal until the end of the season. The Bully Wee are confident international clearance will come through from Australia in time to allow experienced and much travelled midfielder Charlie Miller to be included in their squad. Clyde, who won for the first time in six months last Tuesday, were frustrated at the weekend when their game with Arbroath was called off. Duffy said: "The players were on a high so it was disappointing we didn't get the chance to build on it. We will have to go out to try and do that against Albion Rovers now.''   Po TEAM P W D L F A GD Pts 1 Arbroath 21 12 3 6 48 37 11 39 2 Stranraer 21 10 8 3 41 30 11 38 3 Albion 21 10 5 6 33 28 5 35 4 Annan Athletic 20 8 8 4 34 25 9 32 5 Elgin City 22 9 5 8 35 37 -2 32 6 Queens Park 22 9 3 10 27 27 0 30 7 Berwick Rangers 19 5 8 6 32 29 3 23 8 Montrose 21 5 6 10 33 37 -4 21 9 East Stirling 20 6 2 12 16 28 -12 20 10 Clyde 17 2 4 11 18 39 -21 10   Albion Rovers have the chance to get within a single point of leaders Arbroath with a win against Clyde and their cause is helped by the return of midfield duo Peter Innes and Scott Chaplain from suspension and injury respectively. However, despite the difference in places in the league, manager Paul Martin is wary of facing the Third Division's bottom club. He said: "This is very much a new Clyde side with a new manager and several new players in place. I'm not looking at it as a visit to a bottom-of-the-table side, I am viewing it in a more traditional way in that Albion Rovers are going in as underdogs against a much bigger club. We are playing some great stuff just now but need to convert our chances better.'' Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is ScottishFitba Net
