Business As Usual For Gordon Young

Motherwell have still to find the man who will take over at Aberdeen eventually. Motherwell are still on the case to find somebody to slip into the slippers vacated by Craig Brown. The club are understood to have met everybody they wanted to interview and could make an announcement before Christmas. Former Old Firm players Stuart McCall, Alan Stubbs and Chris Sutton are believed to be among the main contenders. Youth development supremo Gordon Young is continuing to prepare the players for the game against Rangers on Boxing Day. Young, who has been in charge since Brown left for Aberdeen on 9 December, said: "My brief has always been to prepare the players in the interim, waiting for the manager to arrive, whether it be a day or a week, whatever. I don't see it going much longer than that. But it's a credit to the club that they are taking their time and the due diligence involved to get the right candidate. I can only give massive plaudits to the players, they have been so receptive to me in this period. Also, if you think of the setbacks they have had in the last few years, maybe a managerial change is way down the list of events that have a big effect on people's lives. The way they have gone about their business at training and how they have prepared has been fantastic."
