Brown Ready For Action

Cceltic captain Scott Brown wants to be back in action for the Europa League and derby games Scott Brown is still hoping he can be ready for action on Thursday for the scheduled Europa League game against Atletico Madrid. Of course, Celtic's trip to Madrid depends on UEFA throwing out Sion's appeal against their Europa League expulsion tomorrow. Brown picked up an ankle injury when playing for Scotland against the Czech Republic. He subsequently missed the 1-0 win against Lithuania and Celtic's game against Motherwell. Manager Neil Lennon has vowed not to risk Brown in Europe if it makes him a doubt for Sunday's Old Firm derby at Ibrox but Brown still wants to play in both games.  Speaking yesterday, Brown said: "I'm getting very close to being fit. I'm touch and go for Thursday but I'll be fine for Sunday. I did it in the Scotland game (against Denmark) a few weeks ago and I've been playing with a tender ankle for the last couple of weeks and it has maybe just got the better of me the last few days. I'm desperate to get back in on Thursday. I will try training tomorrow or Wednesday and take it from there."
