Brown Out Of Commission

Injury has prevented Scott Brown adding to his caps tally.

Celtic captain Scott Brown was not included in the Scotland squad announced today ahead of the EURO2013 qualifying games against Lichtenstein and Spain next month as he is to see a specialist over his ongoing ankle problem. Brown will miss Sunday's game against Hearts and could face a number of weeks out of action. Brown had operations on the ankle in 2009 and it was the same one which he  sprained during Scotland's win over Denmark in August. It has not helped that he aggravated the injury in the recent Old Firm game.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon said: "He's going to see a specialist again in the next few days. He will be out on Sunday too. I don't think it will require surgery but it might just be that it will take a bit longer than we first thought. We're hoping it's not as severe as a few months, but it might be a bit longer than a couple of weeks."
