Kris Boyd is still able to find his way to goal

Kris Boyd scored the opener for Portland Timbers against a Los Angeles side fielding David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane, to no avail. Shortly after, he had a potential second ruled out narrowly for offside, the Galaxy equalised to send the sides in level at half time.

The second half saw plenty of domination by the Portland Timbers but they never seemed to pose a sufficiently sharp threat to unsettle Josh Saunders in the Galaxy goal. Eventually, they succumbed to two late goals from the Galaxy, including a long range effort from Beckham, to sink to their fourth successive loss. Next week Portland host Kansas City, they year's surprise packet with a straight start of six wins.
